Sterling Event Group

Company Emissions Measurement & Net Zero Roadmapping

Worlds Better partnered with Sterling Event Group to measure its operational carbon footprint and establish a clear pathway towards Net Zero. Working closely with the business, we conducted a comprehensive assessment of emissions sources, identified key carbon hotspots, and developed the foundations for a long-term decarbonisation strategy.

To support this work, Worlds Better facilitated a full-day Net Zero workshop with Sterling's senior leadership team at its headquarters and warehouse facility. The session brought together decision-makers from across the business to review emissions data, explore reduction opportunities, and align on strategic priorities.

Through a collaborative process, the team identified the most significant sources of emissions within the organisation, discussed the barriers and opportunities likely to influence progress, and co-created the next phase of Sterling's Net Zero roadmap. The workshop focused on turning carbon data into practical actions, ensuring sustainability considerations are embedded within business decision-making.

One of the key findings was that Sterling already has a strong foundation on which to build. Existing initiatives include ISO 14001-certified environmental management processes, extensive recycling infrastructure, electric vehicle schemes, and industry-leading commitments such as the PLASA Pledge. These programmes demonstrate a clear commitment to environmental responsibility and provide a solid platform for future emissions reductions.

The project also highlighted the high level of engagement and ambition across Sterling's leadership team. Their openness to challenge, willingness to collaborate, and commitment to long-term change created a productive environment for strategic planning and action development.

Worlds Better continues to support Sterling Event Group as it progresses from planning to implementation, helping the business translate its Net Zero ambitions into measurable outcomes and meaningful environmental impact.
