Module 5 of this course walks through the full process - data gathering, verification, emissions calculation, and presenting findings in a format that satisfies client and stakeholder expectations.

Q: What is the difference between net zero and carbon neutral for events?
A: Carbon neutral means offsetting all the emissions your event produces — so the net amount released is zero. Net zero is more rigorous: it requires reducing emissions as far as possible first, with offsetting only used for residual emissions that genuinely can't be eliminated. Most credible sustainability frameworks now push towards net zero rather than carbon neutral, because carbon neutral can be achieved largely through offsetting without meaningfully reducing impact. Module 2 covers both concepts and explains how to communicate them accurately to clients.
